For over 5 years Enerdrive have researched, designed and tested lithium batteries and the associated charging systems, Enerdrive are at the forefront of lithium battery systems in Australia. The team at Enerdrive have once again outdone themselves with this excellent new product release. As usual they have researched the market and developed a product that exceeds all expectations.

We have been very cautious with this relatively new technology and have patiently waited for their trusted friends at Enerdrive to release a high quality, well designed product that offers great opportunity for weight saving and amazing discharge characteristics that will truly revolutionise the RV battery market.

The new ePOWER B-TEC lithium battery will certainly fit in nicely. It is designed and intended for use in deep cycle applications where a single battery is required that meets the amp hour capacity. Suitable for on road caravans, camper trailers, 4WD’s (AUX battery), small motorhomes, small water craft, low power communication site and more.

This exciting new lithium iron phosphate battery boasts the highest standard of safety measures and rigorous testing available.

So what makes the new ePOWER B-TEC so good?

Replaceable BMS - All lithium batteries require a “Battery Management System” to maintain each internal cell individually. The problem is in most cases the manufacturers actually seal the BMS in the battery making it totally unreplaceable. If an ePOWER B-TEC BMS was damaged by either user error or manufacturing fault, it is completely replaceable thus saving your battery investment.
Smartphone Monitoring as Standard - As usual Enerdrive have thought of everything. The wireless smartphone monitoring function supplied as standard is a great feature. The Enerdrive ePOWER B-TEC battery incorporates wireless Monitoring Technology. By downloading the Android™ or Apple® app to your smartphone or tablet device, you can monitor the following information;

The biggest incentive for lithium today is the substantial weight and depth of discharge advantage on offer. A single lithium Battery will save approx. 15kg – 20kg when compared to a similar sized AGM’s. It gets better though. Not only is lithium lighter, it is also equivalent to a larger rated capacity AGM battery thanks to its high depth of discharge characteristics.

Enerdrive state a 100Ah Lithium is equal to 160Ah AGM & 125Ah Lithium is equal to 200Ah AGM. (Based on standard depth of discharge for both Lithium (80%) and AGM (50%). So the weight advantage is even greater when comparing actual usable amps.

Charge time recovery is another big plus. The EPL-125BT-12V can be recharged from 80% DOD @ 25⁰C in just 2 hours, using the recommend Enerdrive ePOWER 40A charger to insure battery life longevity. But that’s no problem, at that rate you can still expect incredibly fast charging compared to traditional batteries. Imagine the dual battery in your 4x4 at the beach being fully charged in just 1 short drive to that perfect fishing gutter.

If you’re concerned about voltage drop in your DC system then worry no more. An excellent feature of these batteries is their ability to maintain voltage while discharging. A normal AGM battery will discharge from approximately 12.8 volts at 100% down to 12.00 volts at 25% state of charge. During this discharge period, voltage at the appliance will also reduce causing system shut downs or appliance errors.

The ePOWER B-TEC Lithium Batteries will maintain approximately 12.8 volts down to 20% state of charge. This means you can enjoy minimal voltage drop during the discharge process when using these types of batteries.

With a specified cycle life @ 80% Depth of discharge of ≥2000 cycles under controlled conditions and an increased cycle life if less than 80% DOD, you can expect many years of use from these batteries making them a financially viable choice.
